The Ultimate Hot Chocolate

As the cold weather is approaching, it is time to find that perfect recipe for an all-time classic. I know, the search can be lengthy and tiring. The good news is, we have done it for you and managed to come up with the best hot chocolate that we have ever tasted.

The real secret of a rich and creamy hot chocolate is to use really good quality dark chocolate with high cocoa content. Naturally, we have used our highest percentage bar for this recipe and it did not fail us. The result is a thick and smooth bittersweet hot chocolate.

The best part of this recipe, apart from resulting in a flavourful beverage is that it requires minimum effort. All you need is a few ingredients and ten minutes of your time.


  • 1/2 cup of full-fat milk

  • 1/2 cup of double cream

  • 1 vanilla pod

  • 1 tsp powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • a bar of 85% Islands Chocolate

Heat up the milk and double cream together with the sugar, vanilla and cinnamon in a saucepan. Do not bring your mixture to a boil, just let it gently simmer. Chop up your 85% Islands Chocolate and add it to the mix. Stir gently until all the chocolate is melted and your mixture is completely smooth.

Extra Tip: To make your hot chocolate thicker, just add more chocolate
