The Recipe
For a 6oz cup, you will need:
- 90ml milk (diary or alternative)
- 19ml boiling hot water
- 30g Islands Chocolate Buttons
For an 8oz cup you will need:
- 120ml milk (dairy or alternative)
- 25ml boiling hot water
- 40g Islands Chocolate Buttons
Method: Barista
- Scoop your Islands Hot Chocolate Buttons into a milk pitcher
- Dose with a splash of hot water to just cover the buttons
- Swirl, stir or whisk to melt to a smooth ganache
- Pour in your milk
- Steam together, stretch initially for a couple of seconds, then move the steam wand slightly deeper to heat to the desired temperature
Method: At Home
- Scoop your Islands Hot Chocolate Buttons into a cup or milk pitcher
- Pour in a splash of boiling water from the kettle, just enough to cover the buttons
- Swirl, stir or whisk to melt
- Heat your milk, either in the microwave or on the hob
- Gradually pour the hot milk into your melted chocolate, stirring constantly
